The first day and last day of camp are not full days - the schedules for the first day and last day are different than what's listed below and you must refer to the additional information we provide you for those days including drop off window, pick up window, and bus schedules.

The typical full-day schedule posted below is a guide - we follow this typical full day schedule as best as possible but sometimes we need to make adjustments due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.  Schedules are constantly announced during camp and all campers are made aware of all changes.

7:30am Breakfast

Every full day at camp starts with a great breakfast!  Our chef and kitchen staff prepare high quality food that meet the needs of everyone: vegans, vegetarians, those with food allergies*, and even the pickiest of eaters.
*Every year we have great success with varying types and severities of allergies (nuts, gluten, etc).  We can accommodate nearly every food allergy - please read our FAQ and contact us if you still have questions.
After Breakfast the campers have free time until the Morning Workout/Run at 9:30

9:30am Morning Workout/Run

After some free time we meet and complete an active warm up routine before the heat of the day sets in.  Every running group has at least one coach and each group is assembled based on running ability, goal mileage, and the data we collect from you in July or early August.  We take advantage of the hills, first roads, and trails that we have access to.
After the Morning Workout/Run the campers have free time until Lunch at 12pm

Free time activites

While all meals, runs, and evening meetings are mandatory - we also build free time into every day at various times.  Our programming provides a structure for campers to get the most out of the week at camp and the free time gives them an opportunity to do what they want and to express themselves.  Sometimes free time is the perfect opportunity for a nap, for a team to hang out together in the adirondack chairs and talk about the upcoming season, for a cabin of new friends to plan a skit at the talent show, or for a call back home.  The following (optional) activities available during free times:
  • official sports tournaments including Gaga ball, ping pong, beach volleyball, billiards, knock-out (basketball), tether ball, and frog ball - the winners of the official sports tournaments get the famous BMXC CAMP CHAMPION shirts
  • access to all the sports activities listed above in a non-tournament / pick-up format
  • lake with swimming, kayaks, and canoes (only during designated times)
  • "Canteen" with arcade games and picnic tables

12pm Lunch

Lunch refuels us after our morning run.  As the day warms up the air conditioning in the dining room can be switched on - but the weather in the Poconos is usually so nice that we are able to have at least one cookout during the week too.  Our amazing chef and kitchen staff ensure that all campers get the nutrition they need.

After Lunch the campers have free time until the Afternoon Workout/Run at 3pm.

The Lake!

As long as the weather is good the lake is open after lunch - our private lake features swimming, kayaks, canoes, water slides, and inflatables, as well as a shallow end for just wading.  There's nothing like a dip in the lake on a beautiful summer day

2pm Optional Afternoon Session

The "optional afternoon session" is always educational and is held every full day at camp - the topic varies to focus on taking care of our whole body.  Every time a camper attends any optional afternoon session they get an entry into the drawing for prizes and giveaways.  Some topics from previous years are: goal setting, mental preparation for races, and shoe selection.

3pm Afternoon Workout / Run

Some groups will go for a second run while others will participate in alternative strength and recovery activities. In the afternoon we often include a fun challenge or a game into the run as well

Even though we are a traditional summer camp we do have a fitness center with exercise bikes and other equipment that can be used to diversify what type of exercise we get.

After the Afternoon Workout / Run the campers have free time until Dinner at 6pm

6pm Dinner

Dinner is another high quality meal to help us get ready for tomorrow's run.  The chef and kitchen staff are dedicated to ensuring that all dietary needs and restrictions are met and accounted for.
After Dinner the campers have free time until the Evening Meeting at 8pm

8pm Evening Meeting

Every night we host a evening meeting - sometimes it's a talent show where the campers are the stars, other times we bring in a guest speaker such as a college coach or an professional runner / Olympian, and some times it's a campwide activity - no matter what it's always fun!  Check out our past guest speakers here.
After the Evening Meeting the campers have free time until the they have to Report to Cabins at 10:30pm

The snack window is open most nights as well - when it's open the campers can purchase small snacks after the evening meeting

Organized Social Event

Every night we provide an optional organized event that anyone can participate in - it gives everyone a chance to relax and enjoy a day of hard work and excitement with their friends (both old and new!).  Some examples are: a dance with a dj, a campfire with s'mores and a night swim, and making tie-dye shirts.
